Due to temperature differences between the climate we are shipping from and the climate you live in, you may need to do minor adjustments to your Fretlight to ensure good playability. We recommend you allow 7-10 days for the guitar to "climatize" to your environment. After that period, if the neck appears to have a forward or backward bow, use the truss rod adjustment tool to straighten it.
The truss rod adjustment tool is the larger of the 2 alan wrenches that arrived with your Fretlight Guitar.
Insert either end of the alan wrench into the top hole of the neck until the alan wrench finds the groove of the nut inside. (Note: some truss rods can be rather recessed inside the neck. It may take some angling to get it in there.) At this point, turning the wrench counter-clockwise will adjust the neck forward (to correct for a back-bow), turning the wrench clockwise will adjust the neck back (to correct for forward-bow).
Raise the guitar and sight down the neck from the lower bridge. If you still see a bow (or if you over-turned the truss rod, seeing an opposite bow) go back and turn appropriately.
Remember that this is a 2-WAY truss rod, meaning that there are two ends of threads to which the inside rod catches, and there will be some space in-between. In the middle portion of the rod (between adjusting either for forward or backward bow) the rod may appear to turn loose. This is normal. Just keep turning the truss rod until you feel it catch on the other side.
