The Fretlight is a fully functioning guitar just like you’d find on stage or at a guitar store. Fretlights are made in the same factory alongside other brand names such as Ibanez, Gibson, Dean and Fender. It has strings, a truss rod, magnetic pickups, etc., just like every other guitar in the world. This is not a plastic toy with colored buttons!

Our electric models have a ¼" jack like any other electric guitar and plug into any amplifier for great sound.

Optek has spent over 17 years perfecting its patented lighted learning system. The LEDs are cleverly hidden under the fretboard so that when they are not on, you can't see them. The light system does not affect playability and the Fretlight feels and plays like any other guitar.
